Congregational governance
Garden Community Church has a congregational form of governance with elements from the United Church of Christ and the Presbyterian Church (USA), with which we are jointly affiliated. At the Annual Meeting in January, members of the church elect leaders and make other key decisions. Other congregational meetings may be scheduled during the year.
An elected Leadership Council consisting of the co-moderators (our pastors), the vice-moderator, moderator-elect, clerk, treasurer and assistant treasurer, and eight at-large members serves as the church’s policy-making body and conducts church business between congregational meetings.
