A lament over gun violence

By Rev. Rick King

Sometimes, when one has no words to describe the collective emotion of a moment like that this week after the Uvalde, TX, mass school shooting, thank God for language we can borrow that gives voice to our horror, our grief, and our outrage about being stuck in the self-destructive cycle we’re in in our nation’s relationship with guns.

This Memorial Day weekend, we’ll be praying THIS LITANY in worship. I share it with you here so that whether you are in the sanctuary online or in person or not, we may all share this prayer and find ourselves called to some kind of action.

Because remember: politicians serve us—not the other way around.
