Climate Conversation at FHC

On Sunday, Sept. 18, FHC’s Climate Action Team invites the congregation to be part of an important step in our church’s creation-care journey, as God calls us to serve individually and in community.

During our 10:30 a.m. worship service, we are eager to hear from Buff Grace, the director of faith networks at Minnesota Interfaith Power and Light (MNIPL). He will discuss the relationship FHC is forging with MNIPL to become a certified Climate Justice Congregation, and he’ll explain what his organization does and how it supports places of worship that are on that journey.

Immediately following the service, we will enjoy some refreshments and Buff will lead an interactive workshop called Climate Conversations. Child care and snacks for kids will be provided.

Since 2015, MNIPL has facilitated Climate Conversations with thousands of people across Minnesota. During Climate Conversations, we will share stories of connection and learn about ways we are called to act in response to climate change. Buff guides participants to connect with their faith, spiritual practices, and deepest values, before articulating together the realities of our changing climate and how we can take action together.

This heart-led approach opens up dialogue and widens the circle of people and communities talking about the climate crisis in connected and grounded ways.

Join with your fellow FHC members, as well as welcomed guests from the community, as we dive deep to engage on this vitally important topic. We will finish by no later than 12:45 p.m.
