Sensory garden taking shape at FHC

Sensory gardens are intimate outdoor spaces filled with enticing sounds, scents and textures, designed to delight. All gardens provide sensory experiences, but gardens with sensory at their heart will have a concentration of different elements that stimulate the five basic senses of sight, sound, touch, smell and taste.

Our garden is beginning to take shape. We want to thank Dennis and Mary Ann Dietzel and Allen Hoffman for their assistance and donations. We also thank Gena Zelenka for her gift of a beautiful spinner and several anonymous donors for gifts of large rocks, plants and seeds, wind chimes, a birth bath and a metal butterfly.

We will still welcome donations of rocks, stepping stones, an outdoor bench or chairs, and materials for garden borders. We will also be installing a pathway and decorative grasses, so there will be other opportunities to contribute in the future.
