World and community donation needs

Turkey and Syria earthquake relief

The United Church of Christ has issued an appeal for donations to assist in recovery efforts in Turkey and Syria, which have been devastated by a powerful series of earthquakes. Learn more and donate here.

Bridging needs furniture, household goods

Bridging in Roseville supplies donated furniture and household items to persons/families transitioning out of poverty or homelessness. Donations have been exceptionally low for a long time, and the need is at an all-time high. There is a severe shortage of sofas and love seats, mattresses, box springs, and bed frames. Almost all household furniture is accepted, along with kitchenware, bedding, towels, lamps, artwork, mirrors, rugs, etc. Go to their website (bridging.org) to see a complete list and the fee structure for pickup at your home, if you’re unable to deliver the items yourself. Contact Carol Holm with any questions.

Food for Falcon Heights students

We need more food to supplement the Every Meal offering for Falcon Heights School. For awhile students were moving or dropping out of the program, but recently more students entered the program and our numbers doubled. We particularly need more boxes of Cheerios, but will soon need more healthy snacks like granola bars, nuts, or dried fruit, and more little oatmeal packages.
