Packing the pews for the food shelf
Our Outreach Team’s appeal to “Pack the Pew” last Sunday with food for our March food drive produced not one, but two pews packed with food and other supplies for the Department of Indian Work food shelf — a total of 963 pounds!
FHC’s Sara Wright overheard the DIW staff coordinator saying: “I didn’t have funds to order any cooking oil or sugar or flour until next month, but we just got in a wonderful food donation from a church with lots of those items!” The food shelf always needs more of the basics, Sara says.
Donations are welcome at any time, but especially through the end of March, which is FoodShare month. Monetary donations are also helpful.
