New to Falcon Heights Church? Consider attending a newcomer information series to learn more about us.
This first of these newcomer sessions will be during Lent. We’ll meet over dinner on Sunday evenings, Feb. 18 and 25 and March 4 and 11.
The Rev. Rick King will lead the sessions. In addition, church members will be on hand to answer your questions.
Please RSVP with the church office at 651-646-2681 or [email protected] if you plan to attend.
Our annual congregational meeting is held each January. At this meeting, the members gather to hear reports from the past year. The meeting also sets the direction for Falcon Heights Church for the year to come.
1. Approval of minutes from last Congregational Meeting on Jan. 29, 2017
2. Presentation of written annual report, with additional Ministry Team reports as needed
3. Reports from the Executive Board
4. Presentation and vote on Nominating Committee’s slate of leaders for 2018
5. Approval of proposed 2018 budget
Documents for the meeting:
March 2017 congregational meeting minutes
Congregational Call Meeting minutes August 2017
Millions of black Americans migrated from the south to the north in the 20th century. This Great Migration was like a refugee movement we would see today—but within one country’s borders.
Join us during adult First Hour faith formation at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, to discuss Krista Tippett’s “On Being” podcast on this timely topic.
Tippett talks with journalist and author Isabel Wilkerson. Wilkerson’s book “The Warmth of Other Suns” chronicles the migration and the lives of the people who took part in it.
We will play the first 15 minutes of the podcast to set the stage. However, we recommend people listen to it beforehand or read the transcript if possible. Go to the podcast page
In February, our adult First Hour theme will be hospitality and welcoming.

This month we’re collecting soups, chili, stew and other canned food for hot meals with protein. The donations will go to the Department of Indian Work food shelf.
In addition, we’re collecting low-sugar cereal, granola bars and snack packs of nuts or dried fruit for for students at Falcon Heights Elementary School. Students take the food home on Fridays to help tide them and their families over during the weekend. Falcon Heights Church is one of several congregations supporting kids in this way through the Sheridan Project.
Please place your donations in the designated bins in the church lobby.
